Duncan F. Brown is a GRAMMY Award Nominated Mixer, Engineer, Composer & Music Supervisor based in the South of England.

Duncan has 16 years experience in the music industry. From an early age he studied classical music, at 17 composed for an orchestra at Glyndebourne Opera House and performed up and down the country in his own band. These formative years spent in Brighton led to managing a studio home to The Maccabees, Bat For Lashes, Nouvelle Vague and more. 

After graduating from an Audio Engineering degree in 2011 with 1st Class Honours, he began the job as Studio Engineer for Basement Jaxx in London. Initially Engineering their acclaimed 2014 album ‘Junto’, awarding Duncan an MTV Award in Japan and a Grammy Nomination for ‘Best Dance Recording’. Now, more than 12 years on, he finds himself spanning genres and formats more so than ever before. 

Alongside big dance records and touring with the Jaxx, Duncan has worked in Film & TV. Recent projects include Music Consultation, Supervision, Composing and Editing for both seasons of ’The World According to Jeff Goldblum’ (2022 Nat Geo/ Disney+), Series 1-3 of ‘The Rubbish World of Dave Spud’ (Basement Jaxx for Illuminated Films/ITV) as well as co-composing the score to ‘Terranga - We Dance to Forget’ BBC Africa Eye feature length Documentary and a variety of other short films. 

Further projects have included; Bespoke compositions for fashion brands Hugo Boss & Chloé, Sound design and Engineering alongside Felix Buxton for four shows created by Contemporary Dance choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, performed in London, New York and most recently the Gothenburg Opera. Writing for legendary American R&B singer Alexander O’Neal, composing for Podcasts and running two record labels.
